Shakira always keeps us on our toes with her fabulous hair color changes that never disappoint. The 44-year-old singer recently wowed fans by showing off a stunning red hairdo on social media while promoting her new single “GIRL LIKE ME” with the Black Eyed Peas. This daring new look brought back memories of the iconic red shade she rocked on the cover of Grandes Exitos almost two decades ago. “Voilà!” she wrote alongside the photo, showcasing her timeless beauty once again.

Shakira’s fans have pointed out that her latest hairstyle is reminiscent of the one she rocked during her iconic MTV Unplugged performance in 1999. “Redkira has returned!!” cheered one fan on social media. Another fan said, “I’m having major flashbacks to MTV Unplugged.”

The famous singer also shared a video of herself showing off her new haircut using a blow dryer brush while listening to “Girl Like Me” in the background. She captioned the video with a simple “Surprise!” Shakira made headlines in December by releasing her new song and selling her music publishing rights to Hipgnosis Songs Fund Limited. The deal was announced in January. Merck Mercuriadis, the mastermind behind Hipgnosis, welcomed Shakira to their artist family on Twitter, praising her songwriting skills developed over the past 25 years. He applauded her for writing or co-writing almost every song she has ever recorded. Shakira’s music collection includes 145 songs, such as hits like “Hips Don’t Lie,” “La Tortura,” and “She Wolf.” The collaboration with The Black Eyed Peas, “Girl Like Me,” was also part of the deal, but Hipgnosis will not have access to her future tracks. In an interview with Billboard, Shakira expressed her belief that being a songwriter is as important, if not more important, than being a singer and performer. She highlighted the personal meaning of her songs, which reflect her thoughts and emotions at the time of creation, now belonging to the fans who enjoy them. The financial terms of the catalog sale are being kept confidential. Following her collaboration with The Black Eyed Peas, Shakira landed on Billboard’s Global 200 chart for the first time, reaching No. 56 and remaining on the chart for five weeks. Sony/ATV will continue to manage the catalog of the global sensation, as stated in Billboard’s report.
